Parishville man charged with stealing firearms from his family

A Saint Lawrence County man is facing charges after an alleged robbery.

Troopers were called to a site on County Road 47 in Parishville, New York for a call regarding the alleged theft of firearms at approximately 7:38 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2022.

According to a written statement from the New York State Police (NYSP), results of a preliminary investigation showed that a suspect allegedly stole three guns from the garage of a family member of the suspect. The two parties, according to the police, know each other.

The suspect has been identified as Logan C. Binan, 24, of Parishville, New York.

According to police, “Later that evening, Binan parked his vehicle on school property, drove into a wooded area near the school, and was in possession of the guns.”

On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, Binan surrendered to county police officers. Soldiers were sent to the county police department and arrested Binan.

He was taken to the State Police Barracks in Guangzhou for treatment.

Binan now faces the following charges:

  • Fourth Degree Grand Larceny – firearms
  • Criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds

He is due to answer the charges in Parishville City Court on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
